While you were sleeping I crept out of my bed
I could have stayed warm and snug but I chose to run instead
I peeked through curtains to see how the weather seemed
I crept out of the bedroom, whilst you snored and dreamed
While you were sleeping I changed into my kit
I tiptoed down the stairs, they creaked a little bit
I had a slice of toast and a cup of tea
Trying not to wake you all I was as quiet as I could be
While you were sleeping I headed out of the door
I was off to run maybe 10 miles maybe more
Whilst I was running picking up the pace
The countryside was waking and miracles were taking place
WhIle you were sleeping I was running home again
The sun was shining brightly as I pounded down the lanes
I opened up the front door as quietly as I could
You were still all sleeping and my long run had been good
